Two of Dollison Family Sentenced to Federal Prison for Cocaine Distribution

Anchorage, Alaska — On August 27, 2010, two members of the Dollison Family were sentenced in federal court in Anchorage for cocaine distribution.
Dahmir Hale, 22, a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing 92.5 grams of crack cocaine on three occasions between February and July of 2009. Dwayne Dollison Sr., 48, also of Anchorage, was sentenced to 87 months in prison for distributing a total of 17.7 grams of crack cocaine and 10.3 grams of cocaine powder. Both defendants were sentenced by Chief U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Beistline.

Texas Chemical Plant to Pay Nearly $1.5 Million to Resolve Violations in the Transferring of Acid Waste

WASHINGTON – Air Products LLC has agreed to pay $1.485 million in civil penalties to resolve hazardous waste mismanagement violations at its Pasadena, Texas, chemical manufacturing facility. The settlement resolves Air Products’ Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) violations in transferring spent acid to the neighboring Agrifos Fertilizer Inc. manufacturing plant.
As part of the settlement, Air Products has agreed to continue to manage the spent acid on-site and not ship it to Agrifos or any other facility not authorized to accept it. Air Products is currently in compliance with the RCRA requirements specified in the settlement. Air Products has agreed to notify EPA and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in the event that the spent acid is either disposed of or sent off site.

Former El Paso FBI Agent Sentenced for Federal Firearms Violations

Former Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent John Shipley was sentenced this morning to two years in federal prison for violating federal firearms laws.
Senior United States District Judge David Briones also ordered that Shipley be placed under supervised release for a period of three years and complete 250 hours of community service after completing his prison term. Judge Briones also ordered that Shipley forfeit 17 firearms including two .50 caliber Barrett rifles; ammunition in various calibers including over 2,800 rounds of .50 caliber ammunition; one silencer; and, $7,340 in cash seized during the execution of a federal search warrant at Shipley’s residence on May 6, 2008.

Air Force officials reviewing command, control training infrastructure

HURLBURT FIELD, Fla. (AFNS) -- Air Force officials awarded an independent-study contract to DP Technology Services Inc., Aug. 16, for studying the development of an advanced operational-level C2, or command and control, training campus.
"This study is the first step in developing a solution which will benefit Air Force C2 in the future," said Lt. Gen. William Rew, vice commander of Air Combat Command. "It will eliminate current stovepipe training and provide better, fully-integrated C2 support for combatant commanders."
General Rew directed officials at the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., to formerly conduct a study addressing training gaps and standardization for air, space and cyberspace C2 warfighters and standup of a C2 campus. The integrated campus will consolidate formal training for component-numbered Air Forces, air and space operations centers and Air Force forces staffs.

ATF Offers $5,000 Reward for Information in Lake Saint Louis Electrical Sub-station Pipe Bomb Explosion

ST, LOUIS — ATF is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the detonation of a pipe-bomb at the Lake St. Louis Electrical Cooperative Sub-station on Aug. 12.
ATF joined the Lake St. Louis Police Department, Missouri Department of Fire Safety, Lake St. Louis Fire Department and St. Charles County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation of the early morning explosion at the Lake St. Louis Electrical Cooperative Sub-station. There were no injuries and no property damage. Evidence from the crime scene will be sent to the ATF National Laboratory Center in Maryland for processing.
